reflecting

The image shows a lot of reflections, that’s for sure, and there are even more now, now I’ve left the gallery space and the whole environment has been dismantled. No more step-through flowers speaking to the peek-through flowers on the other side of the room, no more portals calling the ultraviolet light into a matte blackness, no more people, when asked to step through the canvas asking ‘can I?’

Staying in the space for a whole day, an uncharacteristically sunny one for Glasgow, I found myself racing around to catch the light as it fell in different ways on different paintings and walls, and then enjoying the peace of the darkness outside, meeting people as they popped in with their dogs, their questions, their chat or their silence.

Listening to the way the paintings communicated with each other, when there was nobody else there (I had made myself very quiet).

No conclusions, still enjoying the experience of reflection. in glass and in the mind. very much.
